Clara Alonso | Luca Luca Fall 2009

Clara who???,  many of you are saying.

I met Clara Alonso backstage at The Plaza Hotel during the second day of my first New York Fashion Week in February of 2009. She was getting her hair styled by famed Edward Tricomi for the Luca Luca Fall 2009 show.   There have been a few points in my photographic life that has changed me.  Clara is one of them.

Clara is the first runway model I actually met and talked to.  I talked to Clara for about ten minutes backstage without a clue who she was.  I just loved her Spanish accent and thought she was amazingly beautiful.  She was kind and genuine and answered all my silly questions like where she was from(Madrid) and she wrote her name and agency on a piece of paper before I left.   I later Google’d her and found out she had just recently walked in the Victoria’s Secret Runway show with Miranda Kerr and Gisele!

I chose these few photos because Clara was just an amazingly beautiful and humble person.  I was really stressed working my firth fashion week, but I ended up loving my images.  Photographers will always question themselves, but after this show I knew I wanted to be a runway fashion photographer for the rest of my life and had a good chance of making that dreams come true.
